Ingredients

For the Salmon

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets (about 4 oz each) Opt for good quality salmon; wild-caught is preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Extra virgin is best.
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder Adjust based on spice tolerance.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Add more if you love garlic.
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika Adds a smoky depth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Essential for flavor enhancement.

For the Slaw

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage (red or green) Red cabbage gives vibrant color.
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro Can substitute with parsley.
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt Healthier than sour cream.
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice Fresh lime is recommended.

For Assembly

  • 8 pieces small corn tortillas Warm for the best texture.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.

Spicing the Salmon

  • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Brush this mixture on the salmon fillets.

Cooking the Salmon

  • Place the salmon in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Cook for about 8-10 minutes until flaky. Flip halfway through for even cooking.

Making the Slaw

  • In a bowl, mix shredded cabbage, cilantro, Greek yogurt, and lime juice, adding a squeeze of lime before serving.

Warm the Tortillas

  • Warm tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side or in the microwave wrapped in a damp paper towel.

Assembling the Tacos

  • Flake the cooked salmon into large pieces, place on warm tortillas, and top with the slaw.

Serving

  • Serve the tacos immediately with a lime wedge on the side.

Notes

Make sure to keep an eye on the salmon to prevent overcooking. Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers for up to 2 days.
