Ingredients
  

For the beef marinade

  • 200 g beef sirloin or steak cubes Prefer lean cuts; look for sales on beef.
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce A versatile umami powerhouse.
  • 1 tsp sesame oil Adds depth; just a little goes a long way.
  • 1 tsp honey Balances savory notes beautifully.
  • 1 tsp olive oil For searing the beef.
  • Salt & pepper to taste Season to enhance flavor.

For the salad

  • 2 pieces boiled eggs (halved) Add creaminess to the salad.
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (halved) Sweet and juicy bursts of flavor.
  • 1/2 cup cooked corn kernels Frozen corn can be used; thaw before adding.
  • 1 cup steamed broccoli florets Adds crunch and vibrant color.
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds For garnish; adds delightful crunch.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Add the beef cubes, ensuring they are well-coated. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the marinated beef for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned and tender. Remove from heat and let rest.
  • While the beef is cooking, steam the broccoli florets for about 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender.

Assembly

  • In a large bowl or on a plate, layer broccoli, cherry tomatoes, and corn as a base. Top with the seared beef cubes and halved boiled eggs, then sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Serving

  • Serve the salad with an optional drizzle of extra dressing if desired, ensuring not to drench it.

Notes

Prep ingredients in advance for a quicker cooking process. Rest beef after cooking to retain juices.
