  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic for 3–5 minutes until they soften.
  • Add the sliced chicken breast, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden-brown, about 5–7 minutes.
  • Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the sour cream until fully incorporated, reducing the heat to low.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, or a splash of lemon juice if desired.
  • Serve the Chicken Stroganoff over egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice.

Notes

Cook chicken in batches if necessary to avoid steaming. Consider adding Worcestershire sauce for added flavor. Use low-sodium broth for better control over salt levels.
