Coating for Chicken

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour Creates a crunchy coating.
  • 0.5 cups cornstarch For extra crispiness.
  • 1 tsp black pepper Seasoning to taste.
  • Oil for deep frying Oil for deep frying Use enough to submerge the chicken.

Creamy Cheese Dip

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Main cheese for the dip.
  • 0.5 cups mozzarella cheese For extra creaminess.
  • 0.75 cups milk or heavy cream Liquid for the cheese dip.
  • 1 tbsp butter For flavor in the dip.
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour To thicken the dip.
  • Salt & pepper to taste Salt & pepper to taste Adjust seasoning to preference.
  • 0.5 tsp dried parsley (optional) For garnish.

Instructions
 

Chicken Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix buttermilk, salt, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Add chicken and ensure it's fully submerged. Cover and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Coating and Frying

  • Combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, black pepper, and a pinch of salt in a new bowl.
  • Remove chicken from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off and dredge in the flour mixture, pressing firmly.
  • Heat oil in a deep pot to 170°C (340°F) and fry chicken pieces for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Cheese Dip Preparation

  • In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, then stir in flour for about a minute to create a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened. Stir in cheddar and mozzarella until melted.

Serving

  • Drain fried chicken on paper towels, then serve hot with creamy cheese dip garnished with parsley.

Notes

This recipe is versatile; you can adjust spices and cheese to your taste. Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days, and reheat to retain crispiness.
