Garnish

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Add diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in Cajun seasoning, salt, black pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Cook for another minute until spices release their aromas.
  • Add rice and beef broth to the skillet. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  • Lower the heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the lid, fluff the rice with a fork, and stir in the sliced green onions.

Notes

Allow flavors to meld; taste as you go. Adjust spices according to preference. Can be made in advance and frozen.
