  • 2 slices slices of ham Turkey or chicken ham can be used; vegetarian substitutes are an option.
  • 2 slices slices of cheese Cheddar is preferred, but Swiss or American are good alternatives.
  • 2 whole eggs Organic or free-range recommended.
  • 1 pinch salt Essential for seasoning the eggs.
  • 1 pinch pepper Essential for seasoning the eggs.
  • 1 tablespoon butter for frying To achieve a golden crust.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of butter.
  • In a bowl, crack the eggs and beat them with a fork, adding a pinch of salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Once the butter has melted, pour in the beaten eggs and cook for 2-3 minutes, gently folding them with a spatula until fluffy but firm.
  • Slide the scrambled eggs onto a plate when set.
  • In the same skillet, place one slice of bread, add cheese and ham, then layer the cooked eggs on top.
  • Top with the second slice of bread.
  • Carefully flip the sandwich after a few minutes, cooking until both sides are golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  • Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve.

Notes

For best results, keep the heat medium to avoid rubbery eggs. Experiment with different types of bread and add-ins like herbs or vegetables.
