  • 400 g steak slices (ribeye or sirloin) Well-marbled for juiciness.
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Adds umami flavor.
  • 1 tbsp butter For richness in the sauce.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For perfect searing of the steak.
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced) Fresh cloves are preferred.
  • 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar Sweetness to balance the sauce.
  • Salt & pepper to taste Essential for seasoning.
  • Steamed rice for serving Base that soaks up the sauce.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the steak slices with salt and pepper on both sides and allow to sit for about 10 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add the steak slices in a single layer and sear for about 3–4 minutes on one side without moving.
  • Flip the steak and sear the other side for another 3–4 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat and add butter, minced garlic, soy sauce, and honey. Stir to combine.
  • Simmer the sauce for 1–2 minutes until thickened.

Serving

  • Let the steak rest for a minute, then slice it if desired and serve over steamed rice, drenching it with the sauce.
  • Enjoy your meal!

Notes

For best results, use quality steak and let it rest after cooking. You can also substitute steak with chicken, pork, or tofu.
