  • 4 cloves garlic, minced More garlic is always a good idea!
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese Gives richness to the bread.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs, chopped Use parsley, thyme, or rosemary.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Essential for flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Feeds the yeast and enhances sweetness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir to combine and let sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  • Add melted butter, minced garlic, grated parmesan, chopped herbs, salt, and flour to the bowl. Stir until a dough forms.
  • Flour your work surface and knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.

Rising

  • Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean towel. Let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour until it doubles in size.
  • Once risen, punch it down gently to release air, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  • Cover it again and let it rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Baking

  • Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Once baked, let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

The bread can be made ahead of time and is great for meal prep. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
