Ingredients
  

For the Ribs

  • 1 lb pork ribs, cut into pieces Baby back ribs are preferred for tenderness.

For the Sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Use low sodium if watching salt intake.
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce This adds a savory-sweet flavor.
  • 2 tbsp honey Raw honey is recommended for richer flavor.
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar Coconut sugar can be used as a healthier option.
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar) Balances out the sweetness.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic is necessary for best results.
  • 1 tsp grated ginger Adds warmth and complexity.
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil Provides a nutty aroma.
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish) Adds texture and flavor.

Preparation

  • Fill a large pot with water, bring it to a rolling boil, and parboil the rib pieces for about 5–7 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sauté until fragrant but not browned.

Cooking

  • Add parboiled ribs to the skillet and lightly brown for about 5 minutes, stirring to prevent sticking.
  • Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, brown sugar, and rice vinegar. Stir to coat the ribs well.
  • Add a splash of water, cover, and let simmer on low heat for 25–30 minutes.
  • Remove the lid and simmer uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, keep a close eye on the garlic to prevent burning. Use high-quality ingredients for optimal flavor.
