Preparation

  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, salt, and milk until smooth.
  • Gradually add the cocoa mixture into the butter mixture, blending until well combined.
  • Fold in the chopped pecans and shredded coconut.
  • Pour the filling into the pre-baked chocolate pie crust.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

Serving

  • Once set, slice the pie and serve cold.
