Pear, Brie, and Cranberry Crostini with Thyme Honey

Ingredients
  

For the crostini

  • 1 baguette 1 baguette, sliced into 1⁄2-inch rounds Freshly baked is best for the best crunch.
  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp olive oil For brushing on the baguette slices.
  • 1 clove 1 clove garlic, halved Rub on the toasted baguette for flavor.
  • 6 oz 6 oz Brie cheese, sliced or torn into pieces Choose good-quality Brie.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup cranberry sauce Ready-made works perfectly.
  • 1 ripe pear 1 ripe pear, thinly sliced Choose a pear that’s not too hard.
  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp chopped walnuts or pecans (optional) Skip if nuts are off the table.
  • 3 tbsp 3 tbsp honey Local honey is recommended for the best flavor.
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves Adds great herbal flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet without crowding them.
  • Lightly coat each slice with olive oil using a brush or your fingers.
  • Toast the slices in the oven for about 5–7 minutes until golden and crisp.
  • Rub the halved garlic clove over each warm crostini as soon as they come out of the oven.

Assembly

  • Place a piece of Brie on each crostini.
  • Add a thin slice of ripe pear on top of the Brie.
  • Spoon a small amount of cranberry sauce on top of the pear.
  • If using nuts, sprinkle them on top.
  • Warm the honey gently and stir in the fresh thyme leaves.
  • Drizzle the thyme-infused honey over each crostini.

Serving

  • Serve immediately while the Brie is still soft.

Notes

Leftovers are best stored in an airtight container for up to two days. Preheat the oven to crisp them back up before serving.
