Main ingredients

  • 1 small wheel (8 oz) Brie cheese, chilled Use chilled Brie for best results.
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed High-quality brand recommended.
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pistachios Adds crunch and color.
  • 1/4 cup apricot jam or preserves Can substitute with other flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon honey Maple syrup can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash) Gives a golden finish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice the chilled Brie into bite-sized cubes.
  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness and cut into 2-inch squares.
  • Place a cube of Brie in the center of each square.
  • Fold the corners of the pastry over the Brie and press gently to seal.
  • Brush each bite with the beaten egg wash and sprinkle toppings with chopped pistachios.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Serving

  • In a small saucepan, warm apricot jam and honey together until smooth.
  • Drizzle the warm glaze over the baked Brie bites before serving.

Notes

Great for casual gatherings or as an elegant appetizer. Can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
