  • 0.5 cups buttermilk Provides moisture.
  • 0.25 cups vegetable oil Adds richness.
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar Activates baking soda.
  • 1 ounce red food coloring Gives dye for signature red hue.

For the Cheesecake Filling

  • 24 oz cream cheese Softened for creamy texture.
  • 1 cup sour cream Balances sweetness.

For the Oreo Crust and Topping

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg, vinegar, vanilla extract, and red food coloring.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Grease a cake pan and pour in the batter. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cheesecake Filling

  • While the cake cools, beat softened cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth.
  • Gradually mix in sour cream, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  • Add all-purpose flour and mix to avoid cracking.

Oreo Crust

  • Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs and mix with melted butter until it resembles wet sand.
  • Press the cookie mixture into the bottom of a greased springform pan.

Bake Cheesecake

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • Place the cooled red velvet layer in the springform pan on top of the crust.
  • Pour the cheesecake filling over the red velvet layer and tap to remove air bubbles.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes until edges are set with a slight jiggle in the center.
  • Turn the oven off, open the door slightly, and let cool for an hour.
  • Chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours before serving.

Garnish and Serve

  • Top the cheesecake with whipped cream, crushed Oreos, and whole Oreo cookies.
  • Slice and serve for a delicious experience.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and chill longer for better texture. Can be made a day in advance.
