Steak & Honey Shrimp Over Garlic Butter Wild Rice

Ingredients
  

For the Steak and Shrimp

  • 2 pieces steaks (your choice: ribeye, sirloin, or filet) Opt for your favorite cut.
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh is best, but frozen works if thawed.
  • 2 tablespoons honey For a glossy finish on the shrimp.

For the Wild Rice

  • 4 cups cooked wild rice Brings texture and nuttiness.
  • 4 tablespoons butter Used for the garlic butter rice.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Adds depth to the rice.

For Seasoning and Garnish

  • Salt and pepper to taste Don't over-season the steak!
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Brightens up the dish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Take steaks out of the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

Cooking the Steaks

  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tiny drizzle of oil.
  • Sear the steaks for approximately 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare.

Preparing the Garlic Butter Wild Rice

  • In another skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in the cooked wild rice and heat for about 3-4 minutes, stirring continuously.

Cooking the Shrimp

  • In the same pan used for butter, add shrimp and cook for about 3-4 minutes until pink and opaque.
  • Drizzle honey over the shrimp and toss to coat.

Serving

  • Let the steaks rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice steaks against the grain and serve over garlic butter wild rice, topped with honey shrimp and garnished with parsley.
