  • 1/2 cup honey Use raw honey for a richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce Choose your favorite BBQ sauce, avoiding overly sugary ones.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Can substitute with any oil on hand.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds warmth and aroma.
  • to taste salt and pepper Essential seasoning for flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the honey, BBQ sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Add chicken thighs to the bowl and coat them well with the mixture.
  • Let the chicken marinate for a few minutes if time allows.

Cooking

  • Heat a large pot over medium heat and add the chicken thighs skin-side down.
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown on one side.
  • Flip the chicken thighs and brown the other side.
  • Pour any remaining sauce over the chicken, cover the pot, and reduce heat to low.
  • Let it simmer for 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Serving

  • Serve warm. The thick and glossy sauce is perfect over rice or mashed potatoes.

Notes

For best results, don’t rush the searing process, use a meat thermometer, and try to avoid overcrowding the pot while cooking.
