  • 1 piece unbaked pie crust Store-bought or homemade

For the filling

  • 1 cup corn syrup Base of the filling
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adds sweetness
  • 4 large eggs Binding agent for the pie
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Adds richness
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Use your favorite brand
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped Can toast for added flavor
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Brings flavors together
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances the pie

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, granulated sugar, and melted butter.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing gently after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  • Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust.

Baking

  • Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 60-70 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
  • Let the pie cool completely before slicing.

Serving

  • Slice up and serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes
